Se non lo avete ancora letto, sull’Espresso di Venerdì scorso c’è un interessante articolo a firma di Oliver Reichenstein, Information Architect e Designer del web, nonché fondatore del blog http://informationarchitect.jp. Il titolo dell’articolo è già, di per sé, un manifesto di idee: molto semplicemente Oliver afferma che “Il Web sarà elementare“.
Molti Web designer si lamentano spesso di non avere abbastanza libertà estetica. Sciocchezze: ce n’è fin troppa, di libertà nel disegnare un sito. Ecco perché così tanti siti appaiono orribili. All’utente interessa l’interfaccia, il modo in cui usa il sito, e non la superficie. Pensate all’impiego di Internet nella telefonia mobile. I siti pensati per i telefonini non hanno un’apparenza bizzarra. In genere non badano a un’estetica di superficie. Ed è per questo che hanno successo.
Standardizzare, per quanto possa suonare male, è la parola chiave del web di domani. Più che l’estetica ed il visual design, saranno l’interfaccia e l’esperienza utente a diventarne il pilastro, portando con loro un bagagliaio di best-practice che hanno già saputo fare la differenza nel corso della storia del www. Non a caso lo stesso Oliver cita Twitter e Facebook, come esempi per definizione, di quello che lui chiama il “web elementare”.
Aspettativa, quella della standardizzazione, che Html 5 sono certo non deluderà. Dando un’occhiata alle nuove specifiche (http://diveintohtml5.org), è impossibile non accorgersene e non rimanere piacevolmente sorpresi, per esempio, dai nuovi <input > introdotti (http://diveintohtml5.org/detect.html#input-types).
Cosa sono questi, se non tentativi di standardizzare una serie di pratiche già utilizzate mediante JavaScript, che migliorano l’interfaccia e l’interazione utente?
